The principal jeweler at the Wedding Ring Workshop for the San Francisco area is our distinguished metalsmith, Alba Nelly Urbina.
After attending Parsons School of Design for Graphic Arts in New York City, this versatile artist continued her creative education in a variety of art forms, including photography, millinery, blacksmithing/welding, and jewelry design/fabrication. After enjoying a successful 12-year career in Graphic Arts, she decided to concentrate on her greatest passion and focused on honing her metalsmith skills. For more than ten years, Alba has been designing and producing finely handcrafted precious metal jewelry, available through specialty boutiques nationwide. At her design studio in Emeryville, she offers specialty custom and bridal jewelry and one-on-one instruction in jewelry design and fabrication. Couples find Alba to be a gentle, sympathetic teacher and are pleased to refer friends and family to A WEDDING RING EXPERIENCE conducted by her. |
The Wedding Ring Experience was first created in London as the result of a challenge thrown down by our founder, Simon Lewis, in the locker room of his Rugby football team after a game! Knowing of his fine reputation and artistic skill as a jeweler, one of his team-mates asked Simon if he would make the wedding bands for him and his bride. Jokingly, Simon replied “Why don't you make them yourself? I'll show you how.” The rest, as they say - is history. |
