The Wedding Ring Workshop in Chicago which serves the Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin areas is honored to have the distinguished metalsmith, Allan Xie, as our principal jeweler.
Allan's initial education and experience in art and jewelry-making was gained in his native China. After moving to the U.S., Allan learned that blending his Chinese background and knowledge into the American jewelry culture gave him a highly-prized distinction among those seeking unusual items of adornment.
For more than twenty-two years, Allan has been spear-heading the design and production of finely handcrafted precious metal jewelry in the U.S., appreciated by both the wholesale and retail jewelry industry.
Allan has personally trained more than ten apprentices to the status of qualified jewelers, either to become his associates, or to pursue their independent careers in the art of custom jewelry design and craftsmanship. |
The Wedding Ring Experience was first created in London as the result of a challenge thrown down by our founder, Simon Lewis, in the locker room of his Rugby football team after a game! Knowing of his fine reputation and artistic skill as a jeweler, one of his team-mates asked Simon if he would make the wedding bands for him and his bride. Jokingly, Simon replied “Why don't you make them yourself? I'll show you how.” The rest, as they say - is history. |
